Making a field compulsory RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have been using the product field for a couple of months now, and some records have the field left as blank.

We are now thinking of making that field compulsory. What would happen to the existing leads where the product field has already been left blank??

  • Hi, the next time you open one of the old records, you will be prompted to enter the value when you try and save (assuming it did not already contain a value).

Basically, making an existing field required won't effect your current records.

    Hope that helps!

  • Hi ,

      Adding to the previous mail.

When you CREATE a new Product the Validation would be Enforced

ON UPDATE of Existing  or New record the Validation would be Enforced

ON DEATIVATE of Existing record or New record the Validation would be Enforced.
