Different designs?

  • Because they wanted their own design and it's more noticeable where you are. E.G: In the first link you notice that you're in the Visual Studio part and in the second you notice that you're in the SQL part.

    Actually in my opinion it's also strange. Most of the forums get back feedback because you can't see the answers quite well and stuff like that.

    I still prefer the Technet style.

  • I see. But is't rediculous to think changing bg-colors, button-colors, icons, width of content areas ...  or font types makes it more easy for the users to realize where they actually are. It's the other way round!

    It might be better to choose ONE design for all and clearly display THEME, LOGO, FORUM NAME, PATH ... to this forum on a central (always visible) position.

    Very confusing, especially to new users.

  • That's true. It's also a little bit annoying for me, switching between the Windows Server, SQL Server, Technet and Visual Studio design everytime.

  • You know what's even worse, you can't use Bold in Visual Studio forum, even tough you can choose it.
