Six Core support? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does vail use six cores?  I know server 2008 takes full advantage of a six core, but I heard bout some limitations of the sku for vail.  About how many processors and memory.  Will vail use all six cores?  Can I go above 8gbs or Ram?

remove this..  I double posted somehow.  others answered my question already thanks.

  • I can't imagine anything on Vail that would need a 6 core machine with
8G of RAM -- WAY overkill...

My main PC is a 6 core beast that I use for a lot of virtualization
work, but most of the other time than that I don't even touch the
    processing power of this machine.

My WHS V1 machine is single core with 4G of RAM and it's overkill, and
Vail might like 2 cores and 4G of RAM.  I run it in a VM with dual
core and 2G of RAM and it works fine.
