Office Enterprise 2007 Fails Validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,  I purchased my copy of MS Office Enterprise 2007 though my employer (Ministry of Defence), using the Home Use Program.  When I open the program I get a message stating that my copy is not genuine!  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software, but get the same result; I know that the defence budget is a bit stretched at present, but I really can't believe that the MoD has resorted to dealing in counterfeit software...  What do I do?  Please see below the results of MGADiag.exe:

  • Hello No_8,

Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

Your retail license installation of Office Enterprise 2007 is showing as Genuine, which is what we would expect for an HUP installation where the "parent" Volume Licensing Agreement at the workplace is still current and valid.

Please try to correct the situation by following these steps in order.

    1.  When the nongenuine message appears, click on the "Learn More Online" link.  You will be taken to a web page and your installation of Office will be revalidated and the OGA Notifier cache cleared.  If Office validates successfully, use Office normally for a day or two and monitor the situation checking for any more nongenuine notices.

If you do not Validate successfully, or you do validate but the notices soon return, move on to Step 2 below.

    2.  Go to this MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919895 work thru the fixes.  If Methods 1 and 2 do not help, try running the MS FixIt in Method 3.  Once that completes, restart the computer then visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button.  If Office validates successfully, use Office normally for a day or two and monitor the situation checking for any more nongenuine notices.

If you do not Validate successfully, or you do validate but the notices soon return, please return here and we will send you off to no-cost email tech support, since there is likely something else wrong with your Office installation.
