When updating to UR6 on CRM 2011, are there any files that are to be installed on SQL server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When i updated on our QA, i installed "en-crm2011-srs-kb2600640-enu-amd64" and "en-crm2011-bids-kb2600640-enu-i386" but that broke the system and i was unable to lo on to CRM. After i uninstalled them and restarted the server I was able to logon. Now I am confused should I install these are not?

If the answer is no, the only thing that in will be installing for upgrading from UR5 to UR6 crm 2011 is "en-crm2011-server-kb2600640-enu-amd64".

    Thank you.

  • Hiya,

You only apply the updates that are necessary for your system.
1: you need to determine if its x64 or i386 system your running. The referenced files are different versions.
2: You should only install the updates your system needs:

    - CRM2011-Server-KB2600640-LangID-amd64.exe - Core update component for CRM, its run on the CRM server.
    - CRM2011-Client-KB2600640-LangID-amd64.exe - Installed on your Outlook client and is the integration component CRM for Outlook.
    - CRM2011-Mui-KB2600640-LangID-amd64.exe - If you have additional languages installed, each of these should be updated with the correct language pack, this in on the CRM server.
    - CRM2011-Router-KB2600640-LangID-amd64.exe - If you using email router funktionality, should be run on the computer which has the email router for CRM installed.
    - CRM2011-Srs-KB2600640-LangID-amd64.3exe - If your using the reporting services extension, this one should be run on your Reporting Services server.
    - CRM2011-bids-kb2600640-LangID-i386.exe - Is used if your creating custom reports for CRM. If your doing this, you should know where :)
