Advanced Search

Question

How come there is no advanced search in the forums? Basically all I want to do is find all the threads that I started, but I can only find all the threads that I've posted in, which is far too many to look through. Is there a reason these forums don't have it? I'm assuming it's not an implementation problem as almost every free forum has advanced search.Wednesday, February 3, 2010 2:53 PM

Hi ScottyDoesKnow,
if you use the searchbox at the top of the page (Search msdn with bing) then you can easily search for the threads you have started by using:
meta:Search.MSForums.ThreadStarterUserName(ScottyDoesKnow)

hi ,
you can use a seach engine for that or use the add in .
the vast amount of data make it hard to search them all , just use keywords and the + sign for example
the live toolbar does a nice job also in finding particular threads

Advanced search would be better than trying to find and remember pieces of program code, though.Wednesday, February 24, 2010 7:29 AM
