Robert Jansson,
A telephonic activation should do the trick.
Rerun the Activate Windows Wizard (Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Activate Windows) and select "Activate my product using the telephone". Follow the phone prompts regarding the many-character activation codes and confirmation codes.
If the automated telephone activation is not accepted, you will be offered the option to speak with a live activation representative. Choose that option. The rep will ask a few questions for the purpose of confirming that you are still using your license for XP in accordance with the EULA. If this is confirmed, the rep will issue an activation code for you to enter into the Activation Wizard.
Post back to let us know how you did

Hello Robert,
Dan is right. Please activate Windows XP by calling a Microsoft customer service representative. The Activation Wizard displays the toll free number that you can dial. Please follow the below steps:
1. Click “Start”, point to” All Programs”, point to “Accessories”, point to” System Tools”, and then click “Activate Windows”.
Or, click the Windows Activation icon in the notification area.
2. Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to active Windows now.
3. Click “Read the Windows Product Activation Privacy Statement”, click “Back”, and then click “Next”
4. Follow the steps in the Activate Windows by phone dialog box and then click “Next”.Note: The number appears now and differs based on the location that you select.
5. Once activation is completed and you receive the following message, click “OK”.
You have successfully activated your copy of Windows. Edit: apparently a third part plugged in an usb wifi adapter, I still need to be certain that MS will know that Win is removed tho.
Thank you for your response, they do not however help me in any way since I already know all that such a site conveys.
What i need to know within 20 hours is how Microsoft knows that a Windows XP has been installed on an Personal Computer that does not have acess to any network.
So that when i know even the smallest information on the technique used I can be certain you also know that it has been been removed.
Knowing very close to nothing of Microsoft's internal procedures am right now guessing it's either done by:
1# The user plugs in an external hdd and later plugs it into an connected PC that communicates with Microsoft.
2# The manufacturer of my motherboard (Asus) collaborates with Microsoft and has a chip with Microsoft keys.
3# the 1394 Firewire connection reported to Microsoft. (must be wireless if so, is 1394 even a wireless thing?.).

I'd like to know why this information has not been forwarded to me since swedish law demand that MS do it, all I got was a phone slamming the hook on the other side and no reply here.Monday, September 24, 2007 5:45 PM -
Robert,
Microsoft doesn't know if your system is unplugged from the internet.
