OCS and Media Gateway's RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

We currently have an OCS 2007 Standard Server and an consolidated Edge Server setup and working well. They provide IM, presence, Live Meetings and VOIP.

We also currently have an Avaya IP Office PBX.

We have an ISDN 30 BRI with 14 channels active

We are looking at replacing the PBX with OCS.

As I understand to do this we need to connect the OCS system to the ISDN using an Mediation Server. We can do this using 3 drifferent Media Gateway's: Advanced, Basic and Other.

I think the most cost effective was of doing this is to put an ISDN card into a server and then run the OCS Mediation Server on the same box - (Basic Hybrid Media Gateway).

    Is this correct?

Does anybody know of any ISDN cards which this would work with?

Or could I drop the ISDN and a Mediation Server, instead using somebody like sipgate so that we can get local calls to more countries? e.g. Forward all of the calls to them and they forward them on.

Any help would be much appreciated.
