Has Update Rollup 3 Broken Server Backup? RRS feed

    Since August, I've been running into problems with Server Backup. Basically, once the backup drive is full, Server Backup fails with errors.

    Now, WHS 2011 is supposed to purge old backups from the drive as required, and certainly, before August, my backup drives would bob along for months with only a few GB free on them. It seemed as though the Server Backup was able to clear out some space from older backups.

    Now, however, once the drives become full, Server Backup fails, and I have to reformat the drives and add them back as a fresh backup drive.

    I have the strong suspicion that something in Update Rollup 3 (which was installed at around that time, as I recall) has broken Server Backup purging.

    Is anyone else seeing this?

    No, I have not seen it. I have had the normal cleanup since UR3, which creates lots of free space which gradually fills up but to date it has not got to the full state again.
