hotmail will not open

I am using a refrubished ''''Dell 32 bit with Windows 7 in service only a couple weeks.My email program functioned normally for a week or so but now I cannot open or write email from my computer. I can access my acount and operate normally on another computer. Do I need to chack any settings, or pack up my 2 week old unit and return?
