Duplicate Detection

Question
-
Hi all,
Is it possible to run duplicate detection over 2 entities?
The scenario we have is that we are passed a list of contacts/accounts from Marketing. Can these be loaded in as suspects and then de-duped against our Account/Contact table to see if they need to be left as suspects or deleted out as they already exist in our Account/Contact table.
Thanks in Advance

Like Roxana has suggested, you can import the new records as leads and configure duplicate detection rules to detect if any of the new records are potential duplicates for existing accounts or contacts, for example, where the lead firstname and lastname is the same as an existing contact firstname and lastname.
When you import records with the CRM Import Wizard, you can use the duplicate detection option during the import to prevent duplicate from being imported. Once the new records have been imported, you can run duplicate detection jobs to highlight potential duplicates but the procedure to deactivate or merge duplicate records is manual so it is best to avoid importing duplicates in the first place.

Hi,
You can have a Duplicate rule in Contact and another Duplicate rule in Account.
** On the other hand, you can upload these Contacts/Accounts as Leads, have the corresponding Follow-up to pursue the sale, if they become a client convert them into Account and Contact.
If you have a duplicate rule it will pop-up it if the leads already exist in Account or Contact, this depends on the field that the duplicate rule is based on.
Hope this helps!
