how to set form authentication on dynamic CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone.

Here I'm start to dynamice CRM 2011 for a blank project. I need to change window default authentication to web form authentication.

we will create a new page on visual studio such as login.aspx then use it for user login, but when I have changed window authentication on web.config to form authentication and place this page on the root of CRM web application I found we can't open it and catch error.

could you explain the details of how to recognize this function, thanks very much.

  • Dynamics CRM is based on AD authentication for On-Premise systems. Adding a custom login page and setting it as the default it not going to let you login to CRM. The login and security mechanism is much deeper than a page.

CRM does support forms authentication by enabling Claims. You can do this from the deployment manager of Dynamics CRM. You can use ADFS as the claims provider for configuring claims based authentication for Dynamics CRM. Once claims has been configured, when you navigate to Dynamics CRM you will be displayed a login page and prompted to enter the login id and password to open CRM.
