Getting developers up to speed on Sync Framework RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are fairly new to the Sync Framework and I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for training a group of developers on Sync Framework. So far I have been wading through the SDK documentation, looking at sample applications and viewing PDC presentations.  For the original learning this works but it has been a rought ride; however, to get a group of developers trained in the technology, this approach does not seem very efficient.  So far I have found 1 book on amazon.com for Sync Framework called ‘Pro Sync Framework’ and it has no ratings.  Does anyone know of any good training materials?

    Thanks,
    Dave Keck

  • Hi Dave,

As an owner of this book and a developer also working with the Sync Framework, I can highly recommend the book you mention (Apress "Pro Sync Framework"), but it lacks any info on the Sync Framework for Devices.

Although it's a matter of opinion, I think there is a steep learning curve with Sync Framework, mainly because the devil is in the detail. However, the examples in the book do work and are easy to adapt to real world situations. The source code for the book is also available for download and helps immensely in getting things to work.

    Hope that helps.

    Kind Regards,
