Question
-
For the love of god, someone please help me. I would like to have messenger just list my contacts...i don't want the giant "SOCIAL MSN highlights recent me photos more" garbage displaying on the left. how do i remove or at the very least hide/minimize that ____? the damn window is so huge.... what are they thinking?... ungh... RAGE!
UPDATE:... after raging and destroying things, i found the icon next to the "Add a friend.." icon which gets rid of the full view mode. Thank god.

There is a little gray square icon in the upper right corner next to "Inbox" you can click to hide the "extra" social stuff. It took me a minute to find it too. After clicking the icon the screen reverts to displaying just the IM stuff.

right corner next to "Inbox" you can click to hide the "extra" social stuff. That would have been a lot easier to type than that load of crap you took the time to type and link. Im glad i dont work with you

If your team has anything to do with the messenger's evolution you should be fired. It has become about the only product I would say anything poorly about. We are a Microsoft shop and IM sucks. It's always going down, it's hard to find needed tools for sending images from one another in our groups, saving anyting requires starting a new path to the target (very frustrating), and its trying to be a social program (not your thing obviously and you're too late).
Give us a utility back and cut out all the other crap that your not good at anyway.
