THIS will fix the browser in Windows Mobile- please make it happen RRS feed

  • So the best browsers on Windows Mobile are all basically just clients with a server doing all of the rendering. Opera Mini works this way, Skyfire works this way, and the new Opera Mobile has a regular mode where it does all of the rendering on the mobile device, and it also has a turbo mode where a server does all of the rendering.

I think Windows Mobile needs a browser that has 2 modes (like the new Opera Mobile has 2 modes). A mode that has a server do all of the rendering, and a mode that has the Mobile device do all of the rendering. Only, I think the "server" should really just be your home PC. I refuse to do any banking (or other sensitive info) on Skyfire, Opera Mini, or any other browser that uses a server to do all of the rendering. This would be much better if the "server" was really just my desktop PC. And in the event my home broadband connection goes down (or any other reason I might come across) and I don't want to use my home PC to render, the mobile browser should be capable of doing its own rendering.

This would probably be fairly easy to implement, and it would definitely one up the competition. Please get it into WM 6.5 or WM 7...

  • I am glad that windows mobile facilitates and embraces so many different web browsers as opposed to other closed systems like apple where you don't have a choice at all.
