Alerts not being sent

Question

Hello everyone,
I have an issue where I, and my users, do not get Task Reminders notifications. We don't use Status Reports so I don't know if they are working but I do get notified about Queue Job failures and I do get Task Alerts on publish. Even though I have all the checkboxes checked for the reminder notifications, I never get them (I do have tasks which are due, past due, etc as a test). My mail server admin sent me the logs and the jobs are not even sent out.
I have checked SP timer jobs and about the only one I can think off related to this is "Notifications" and that one is running with no errors.
I have Googled this but pretty much any hit relates to configuring it. That seems to work.
Not sure if this is related but we are on Lotus Notes for email, calendars, tasks, ... and a simple SMTP for sending emails from PS. I am curious if the fact that we are on Notes is the problem or if there is something else.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thank you in advance,
Jack
Thanks, Jack

Not surprised that you don't find much searching because I have never seen this "half-broken," which is what you are describing. If the alerts are generating, then the issue in not in the SMTP stream. My next thought would be the Timer Job. Maybe changing the time it runs? Could it be colliding with a backup job?

Hi Jack,
Please check below ones....
1) Please check whether your PORT 25 is blocked or not. (Open Port 25, See Port is Blocked)
2) Sometimes ISP will block the PORT 25. (ISP Blocked PORT 25)

Hello SNKBalaji
The ports on the server are open since our queue failures and task assignments are received. The PS installation and the SMTP server are both locally installed.
Thank you,
Jack
Thanks, Jack
