New to Synctoy - Preview shows lots of "overwrites"?

Question
-
Hi,
I have a shared folder on another computer, and up to now, I've been just manually copying documents, etc. to the shared folder for backup.
I just downloaded Synctoy to try it out.
I've set my local folder as the "left", and the shared folder as the "right", and then I've run "Preview" in "Contribute", but it shows TONS of files that it marks as "Overwrite". These are files that I had already copied to the shared drive awhile ago, and they haven't changed, so why does Synctoy think that it should overwrite them?
Is there a way to configure Synctoy so that it will only ADD NEW files to the shared drive, and leave everything else alone on the shared drive?
Thanks,

Hi there,
Can you check if the modified time on files that SyncToy flags "Overwrites" is same on both Left and Right endpoints ? If the times on Right are older than Left, SyncToy would decide to overwrite the file on Right.
You could try turning on the "Check File Content" option. With this option, SyncToy would actually compare files for content mismatch and copy only if the files are different. See Help for Folder Pair Options for more details. But this option could be time consuming especially if you large number of files or many large files, though you could do this only the first time around.

PS: Are you syncing over wireless or is your share on an NAS? Some issues have been reported for these on the forum and you may want to check how others addressed similar issues.

Could you please check if both the content and the properties of the files in 2 locations are exact the same and make sure those files are not modified by some application running on the box?
And , unfortunately, SyncToy couldn’t be configured to sync only CREATE over ( skip UPDATE/DETE) using Synchronize/Echo/Contribute action.
Thanks,
