Sudden Arrival of Office 2003 'not valid' after several years.

Question
-
Stable XPPro Thinkpad system, passes Valid Windows XP, but I'm staring at original CD's of Office 2003 (not preloaded)...and stable for at least 5 years...now I get (on Outlook 2003 only)...a 'Did not Pass the Validation'....I've run the diagnostic, and it keeps failing. What Files are corrupted...What does this PC want to know? Is it better to delete ALL of OFFICE 2003 and reinstall the entire suite, or would this be wasting more of my time at $zero dollars per hour? Here's the report you need to help answer this; on the 'social' or 'human' side of this...my original and current CD's are from participation in Microsoft Usability and Tech/Marketing in Seattle/Redmond, and were registered and installed many years ago. All has been very stable until one week ago. Here's your diagnostic report:

Hello Carbondad,
Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

Your IBM computer has two installations of Office Professional 2003, a volume licensing installation of Project Pro 2003 and a volume licensing installation of Visio Pro 2003. One installation of Office Professional 2003 is a volume licensing installation done with a widely pirated and now blocked volume licensing product key, and the other is a not yet activated installation of a retail license.
I am assuming that your use of the volume licensing installations of Project and Visio is not associated with a business, educational, or govermental organization that has current and valid volume licenses for these products.
In order to Get Genuine, you need to uninstall Visio, Project, and the nongenuine volume licensing installation of Office Professional 2003.
Once these three are uninstalled, then you have to open and activate the remaining retail license for Office Professional 2003.
The tricky part will be trying to determine which of the two installations of Office Professional 2003 listed in the Add or Remove programs applet is the one you want to uninstall. Here is the best advice I can give you:
1. Open an Office program just like you normally would. Click Help>About and look for the Product ID number. If the second set of digits is "640" then that's the one you want to uninstall. If the second set of digits is "721" then that's the one you want to keep.
2. Back in the Add or Remove Programs applet, one installation of Office should show that it is used more frequently that the other. Theoretically, the one that's the most frequently used is the one you opened up in step 1.
Good Luck!
