WHS Toolkit 1.1 - Windows Home Server AppPool Is Off RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently installed the WHS Toolkit V1.1 on my XP Pro PC and I've done the "Publish Server Add-In" to my WHS server.
Back on my Xp Pro PC using the WHS console, , I'm receiving the following error message from within the WHS/Settings/Toolkit 1.1/Home Server Connectivity Details:

Checking Windows Home Server App Pool Status......
FAIL: Windows Home Server AppPool is off.

This is the only error showing a FAIL status.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do to remedy this?

  • App Pool Status probably refers to IIS (the remote access web site). Do you have the remote access site turned off? Can you access the remote access site?

  • Sam,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes remote access was turned off. I turned it on and the error message disappeared. The toolkit is working fine now.
    Thanks again.

  • I found that my toolkit was giving the app pool is off but my remote access was on.  Restarting IIS did not solve the problem until I turned off remote access, restarted IIS and turned on remote access.
