My Office 2007 Product Key is not validating

Question
-
I have a new Sony Vaio Laptop with Windows Vista Business installed. When I open any MS Office application it asks for the product key but when I enter the key printed on the COA sticker it comes back saying the product key I entered is incorrect when it is not. I've tried to re-enter it a lot of times but I'm still getting the same error. I ran the diagnostic test and this is the result:

Kathreen,
It appears you may have two versions of Office installed. Please uninstall 2007 Microsoft Office system from your system and then your Office 2007 Business version should validate. Thank you and if you need further assistance please don't hesitate to post back in this thread.
Thank you,
Stephen Holm, MS

How would I know if my MS Office 2007 is a trial/demo version?Tuesday, January 22, 2008 2:59 AM

The product key affixed to your computer is valid only for Windows Vista and not any Microsoft Office products. It appears you need to purchase a product key for Microsoft Office.
How to determine whether you have a trial edition of a 2007 Office suite or program installed:
