Best Practices for Installing a Test Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was wondering where I would find out if there are a written set of best practices for installing a Windows 2003 or 2008 server in a corporate test lab environment.  I don't really want (and don't think I need) to isolate the server from the rest of our corporate network.  In fact, we'd like to be able to access it from our office PCs in order to run and/or get status on tests in progress.

What concerns me is configuring the server so that it will be most like what our customers would have and yet not interfering with our corporate DNS, DHCP, Domain, etc.

Is there a forum for such a question?  Can anyone tell me where I might find such guidance?

    Thanks,

    Bill
