    Hi, I live in Australia and have recently cancelled my onecare subscription because the cost of renewal was an astronomical $99. Microsoft really do need to review their prices seeing as though the Australian dollar is almost equal to the USD although I realise this is not the place to discuss that.

     

    Anyway, my local computer store is selling onecare for the price of $38 Australian. My question is, if I bought a copy of onecare from my local store, would I somehow be able to use that copy to renew my subscription? I would rather pay $38 instead of $99.

    A cancelled subscription cannot be renewed. If you didn't actually cancel but chose not to renew you can use the product key included with the retail CD to renew if you are still within the grace period. If you actually cancelled your subscription you will have to create a new account.
