Windows 7 Genuine Validation Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  •      I recently got the Windows 7 Upgrade through Toshiba and I was trying to validate my copy of Windows 7 on Microsoft.  However, when I clicked validate Windows, it lead me to another webpage reagarding Windows Genuine Software, and no download came up as for me to validate my software.  I then checked for any errors and found out that i did not have the Windows 7 plug in for Firefox.  Thus, I got the plug in but the results stay the same!  Can someone please tell me how I can validate my version of Windows?

  • Hello LewisKim,

The Online Validation Checks for Windows 7 are not currently enabled. This isncludes the Validate Windows button on the Microsoft Genuine as well as on the Microsoft Download site.  Any content that is protected by an Online Validation Check (such as some software on the Microsoft Download site) will detect the OS as Windows 7 and will automatically allow it to pass without a scan.

The real workhorse is Windows 7's Internal Validation Checks, which are functional regardless of the Online Validation being enabled or not.

    Thank you,

  • I have the same issue

I have a purchased version of Windows 7 Home, installed and successfully activated several weeks ago.

    It worked fine until today.

Now I get a message that says it's not genuine.

    How do I fix it?

  • To help us analyze and troubleshoot a non-genuine notification issue you may be experiencing, please download and run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Tool

Once you run the tool, click on the Continue button, then click on the Copy button and paste the report into your post, along with your question.

    Thank you!

  • I have the same problem. The desktop sometimes shows that "This copy of windowa is note genuine" at the coner. If I go to the "computer" "properties". Then, those words will disappear. It is really annoying since it shows everyday. I have to go to properties to make it disappear. What is wrong? Please help.  I will post the report here:

  • Greetings Victoriage -

Please create your own post and not piggyback on someone else's post.  All it does is lead to confusion.  Your issue may not be related to the OP's original post.  Thanks!
