Windows Server Solutions Log Collector Tool now available for Beta testing on Windows Home Server 2011 RRS feed

  • The Windows Home and Small Business Server Team is happy to announce the Windows Server Solutions Log Collector Tool for Beta testing.  The Windows Server Solutions Log Collector tool captures the context of the Server of Windows Server Solutions family or computers attached to it, at close to the time when the user experiences a problem.

     

    Before you install and use Windows Server Solutions Log Collector Preview you must:

    1. Review the preview license terms included with the software.
    2. Print and retain a copy of the license terms for your records.
    3. Accept the Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the software.
    4. Please read the privacy statement. You can find the privacy statement link below or you can also find it in the software.

    This download provides the following content:

    ·         Tool Installer

    ·         Instructions for using the Log Collector tool, which can be found via the help links inside the tool.

    To install the Log Collector tool

    1.       Download the Log Collector installation package to the any server or computer on the network from the following link.

    2.       Double-click the Log Collector icon.

    3.       If you are running the installation from a network computer, enter your server administrator credentials when prompted.

    4.       Choose to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms.

    5.       To install the tool only on the server, select the Only on the server check box. To install the tool on all network computers, select the On the server and on all of the computers on the network check box.

    6.       Click the Install the Add-in button.
