Product key rejected in attempt to reinstall Wlndows Vista Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been runnning Vista as a guest OS on an iMAC (2.15 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Ram) using Parallels v. 3 to mount it.  Apparently I recently disabled the boot drive while attempting to increase the drive size.  I have been unable to restore or recover Windows and tried to reinstall it, again on Parallels but the Product Key was rejected.  I rechecked and there was no error in entering it.

Is the problem that it seems like a second installation to Microsoft Validation?  Would the problem be resolved if I deleted the guest OS file in Parallels?

When you say it was rejected, what was the exact error message?
