Not able to upgrade to the newer version of Windows Home Server Console RRS feed

  • Question

  • The little WHS icon near the clock is red.  When I double-click it the dialog says I should upgrade to the newer version of Windows Home Server Console.  I click Upgrade.   Then it looks like it's trying to download something from my server, but it eventually fail saying files were not downloaded from the server, "an internal error occurred in the Microsoft Windows HTTP Services."

    Client OS: Vista
WHS Version: Evaluation Copy (Build 3790) Service Pack 2.
WHS Connector version: Unkown...I don't know where to find that.

How to I get the updated connector?
    Thank you

  • Please try installing from  http://yourservername:55000 (replace "yourservername" with the name of your homeserver)

That seems to have worked, although I can't tell if I'm on a new version of the connector software or not.   Thanks.

  • If the tray icon does not display a warning message concering console version it's probably OK. If you want to make sure:

On the client mouse over (or right click and properties) the file C:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\WHSConsoleClient.exe. Version should be 6.0.2030.0
