Live OneCare Icon does not alway appear in system tray when starting my pc. Is OneCare running when it does not appear? I think not because when I go to Windows Task Manager, Live OneCare is not showing until I click (open) it, then it appears in Windows Task Manager. How can I make sure it is always working?
This typically happens if you have lots of startup items in Windows causing OneCare's notify app to fail to load the icon. What I do (I have two machines that exhibit this behavior consistently) is to start the PC and let it sit at the login screen for up to a minute before I sign into Windows. If your account is not password protected, add a password so it forces you to have a login screen. Another option is to disable as much as you can from the startup settings for programs that you don't need running at boot. -steve~ Microsoft MVP Windows Live ~ Windows Live OneCare| Live Mesh|MS Security Essentials Forums Moderator ~
