Installation of XP SP2 stops while checking product key

Question
-
I recently had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows XP due to a virus. I am now trying to download and install XP SP2, but the installation stops when it checks my product key. I have run the validation tool as requested, and pasted the info below. My computer is a Toshiba laptop, and with an COA on the bottom that says Toshiba. I would appreciate any help I can get with this issue. Thanks!

Hello Shoshana,
Everything seems in order from reading your WGA diagnostic resutls. Are you receiving any error codes? Please try to validate again by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/genuine . Next locate the "Validate Windows" button in the upper right hand corner and click on it. Follow the guidance. Please restart your system and attempt to download windows sp 2 again.
The probem may be with Windows Update which isn't a WGA problem. Please visit the WU Solution Center here: http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527
Or, have a look at the WU support forum: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&lang=en&cr=US
Thank you very much.

Thanks, I found a fix that worked on another forum!
For those of you who need it, here's the link to the forum. You will need SP2 on disk, and follow the directions EXACTLY. Worked for me
.

It was a Microsoft forum, but I found it through a Google search. I got a little impatient
, and started searching using a better set of keywords for my problem, and found the link I posted. A friend of mine had SP2 on disk, so I managed to get it installed right before you responded to my post. Thank you for your time and help though!
