Is there a way to make CRM hyperlinks work in Excel? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a report in CRM 2011 Online that our field sales reps export to Streets & Trips via Excel. The report includes a hyperlink to CRM records that works great in Streets & Trips. However, the same link will not work directly from Excel. (It just takes me to the login page.) I'd like to give our telesales reps the ability to work a call-down list from Excel and be able to open the CRM record when they click the link.

Is there some setting or workaround to make CRM hyperlinks work in Excel?

    Thanks!

  • As you are using CRM online you need to authenticate yourself before accessing CRM data if you are not already looged on to CRM Online and authenticated..

I believe if you are already logged on to CRM Online in a web client it may not prompt you for login credentials but let you proceed to the record directly.

  • Thanks for the response. I wish that was the case, but logging in doesn't seem to matter. It may have something to do with the way Excel handles hyperlinks and may have nothing to do with CRM. I just thought I'd check here first. I've tried enclosing the link in a formula (HYPERLINK(<url>)) to make sure it's not truncating the link, but it doesn't help. The odd thing is, I can paste cells from Excel into an email and they work as expected.

  • Quick update. I ran the "Fix-it" from this link and hyperlinks are now working correctly.
