Western DIgital backup device not recognized RRS feed

  • Live One Care no longer recognizes my connection to my WD device - says "cannot find current backup device F:/  What should I do?

  • Do you mean that the drive now shows as E in Windows Explorer? If so, you can change the drive letter assignment back to F:\ by going to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Storage - Disk Management. Right click on E:\ and select Change Drive Letter and Paths... Change it to F: and then try backup again.

  • Can you access the WD drive via Windows Explorer?

    Has the drive letter for the drive changed in Windows Explorer?

  • I cannot acces via Explorer - it does not show as there - only thru E
