Hello, more information would be welcome. Do you use Windows Home Server for restore or do you refer to the System Restore feature of Windows Client operating systems? If the later, you are here off topic. According to the message it may be the case, that the disk is damaged enough to not allow a system restore. Eventually you can boot from a Vista DVD and run chkdsk /r C: from within its system repair environment command prompt. Best greetings from Germany Olaf
