I have a technet gadget that lists four technet forums - which do I select? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to use the Microsoft TechNet gadget. I have loaded it in Windows 7 64 bit.  In the settings for the gadget I see several options:

    The TechNet options listed are

    1. MSDN, TechNet, and expression profile and recognition

    2. TechNet sandbox

    3. TechNet website feedback

    4. TechNet wiki discussion

I don't understand the meaning of these 4 items. I simply want to stay up with responses to queries that I put into the Microsoft forum. Can someone help me understand this?

Answers

  • Karl, I'm actually glad you asked because when I went back to see the source of this gadget, I found quite a few comments in a Google search indicating that such gadgets can be dangerous. As a result I have followed some instructions from Microsoft and did a "fix-it" which removed all gadgets. I was not aware that these can be malicious. So, the bottom line, is that I don't know where I found this gadget. It is available at many locations on the web.
