  • Our client wants to migrate CRM 4.0 Online from one server to another. What is the procedure to migrate CRM 4.0 from one server to another server and what precautions to be taken before and while migrating. I have taken backup of Orgname_MSCRM, MSCRM_Config, ReportServer, ReportServerTempDB and exported all customised entities, ISV.config, Sitemap, Web.config, MS Dynamic CRM programe files, web site files, javascripts. What else I should backup Or anything i have missed Please confirm.

  • You can migrate a server just with databases and custom web applications, if any.

What I don't understand is the "online" part of the migration. If it is CRM online, you shouldn't be able to get the databases, etc.

Are you sure it is CRM Online?

  • I am setting up CRM 4.0 on the new server with the existing deployment option and selecting Network service as Security Account, I am able to complete the installation. I have installed CRM 4.0 connector for MS SQL Server Reporting Services server. But while accessing deployment manager, it does not allow me to access the Deployment manger as error occours "You are not the Deployment Administrator". After searching on the same I found Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946686 and applied the instructions. Still unable to access Deployment Manager.

    Any Help?

  • Hi Shashikant,

It might be good idea to start a new thread for new question, as folks don't usually pay much attention to the questions that have been answered.

In your case, you probably should turn on trace log using CRM Diag Tool to investigate, but still better start a new thread.
