I don't think I have "One Care", but I keep getting a "Found New Hardware" balloon for Generic Volume Shadow Copy. I tell it to proceed and it gives me the same error as above.
"The software you are installing for this hardware:
Generic Volume Shadow Copy
has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. (Tell me why this testing is important.)"
As far as I know, this is a Microsoft program, so why do I get this warning? Does some of Microsoft's programming not pass "Windows Logo testing"? It says I should stop the install and contact the vendor, (which is Microsoft).
A few days ago, I tried telling it to go ahead and "Continue Anyway". It went away after that, but now it is back again.
I recently did some critical updates for Windows XP from the Microsoft site. Would that have any bearing on it?
Is there a Microsoft link I can go to, to download a copy of Generic Volume Shadow Copy that has passed the Microsoft testing?
Oh, yes. I have Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3.
