Win7 Home Premium > Professional.. Activation Issue

Question
-
I have a physical copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, which was on my un-upgraded system.
I upgraded my Windows 7 to Professional, and was given a code, via email.
I have since upgraded my PC, including a RAID 0 setup, and am having issues with Windows Activation.
The store installed Win7 Pro (64-bit) for me, but I am prompted to enter my CD-Key.
Unfortunately it doesn't like the upgrade CD Key, and it tells me my Home Premium key is for a different version of windows.
If I cannot use the Home Premium Key, nor the upgrade (Professional Key), what do I do?

Yep - as suspected, the store isntalled using the default Key for Pro.
You may be able to persuade an operator to assist you to use your upgrade key - try this.
telephone activation (operator calls)
Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you
If they can't help, then you'll have to reinstall Home Premium using the COA Key, and activate that, then use the Anytime Upgrade procedure on that.

The problem here is that the store is incompetent.
What they appear to have done is reinstalled with a default Key for Win7 Pro, rather than Win7 Home premium - and usually there is no need to reinstall anyhow......
let's check that what I think happened has in fact happened....
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, pleasePlease also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

If it doesn't work, you'll have to try and do it the other way.....
Reinstall the original OS using a Retail disk, and your COA Key, and activate it, then apply your Anytime Upgrade.
