Windows Vista Build 6002 - "Activate Windows" message RRS feed

  • Question

  • After uninstalling some programs from my Compaq Presario CQ60, my background went completely black and I got this message that I needed to reactivate the copy of Windows Vista Home Premium because the key entered was not valid. This operating system came preinstalled with my computer, which I have been using for about 10 months, and it has never happened before like this.

I tried to enter the key which is on the sticker, on the back of the computer but it did not work. I also tried a keyfinder which gave me different key from the one that is on the sticker. Also, I tried to use a restore point, to restore the system some days back, but it did not make any difference at this point.

Also, I tried to install the updates I have dismissed for some time from Windows Updates, but it did not make any difference either.

Every time I log on it gives me the same black background and the message on the bottom right corner that the copy of windows is not genuine.

At this point I have no idea how this issue can be resolved, so I would appreciate your help.
