About a month and a half ago we purchased a Windows Vista Upgrade version. I accidently clicked clean install for the product and it installed and the product key would not work, since it only works if you upgrade Windows Vista not clean install. So after 30 days of the key not working, the computer locked and we were given 3 options. 1 Try key again 2. File a case if you think you got a fake software product .3 Go online to buy a new product key. We clicked 3 and we stumbled upon Windows Genuine Advantage Kit.
What I want to know 1. if windows Genuine Advantage Kit works on your computer even if you don't have a DVD drive since it is electronic, and
2. If the product key that comes with it works for a clean installation.
Summary: I clean installed an upgrade version of windows so now the product for the product cant activate it, will buying Genuine Advantage Kit provide a product key that will successful activate it?

All you should have to do is install Windows XP then install Vista Upgrade next. This should get you operational again.

Answer: You would have to order CDs in order to install Vista. CD/DVD Burners are very very cheap for purchasing. Also installing them to your system is very simple and come with detailed instructions.

Answer: The WGA Kits are a full retail version so yes it would work for a Clean install.
