CRM 2011: Reporting is not enabled

Question
-
We have CRM 2011 installed on 3 servers as follows:
CRM-1 (front end) 5.0.9690.3236
CRM-2 (back end) 5.0.9690.3236
CRM-SQL (SRS data connector, SQL server) 5.0.9690.3233
This is after installing update rollup 12 on top of update rollup 6.
Since applying update rollup 12 Deployment manager is showing the message "Reporting is not enabled". However, under Servers the deployment manager shows CRM-SQL as above, AND if I start CRM I am able to run reports and create new ones using the wizard!
Can I ignore the reporting not enabled message? Is there a way to get rid of it?!

Hi,
we are experiencing the same behaviour at a customers installation after upgrading from rollup 6 to 11.
The only thing we can't do is running reports that are created via the wizard, but i can create new reports with the wizard.
I will not be at the customers site for 2 weeks, so i can do no more research, but maybe someone has some ideas for that...
Thanks to all!

Hi all,
I've exactly the same issue in one of our environments. We have that Configuration:
1. Front-/Backend & Database Server - Windows 2k8 R2 German
2. SQL Server 2008 R2 - German
3. CRM 2011 Ent. and all it components - English
4. CRM 2011 Rollup 6 & 12 Installed.
While fixing another problem with the Organisation Database while the Rollup 12 Installation I've uninstalled the Connector. And i've seen that the Versions of all Servers are 5.0.9690.3236. After the Connector Installation I've seen that the Database Server was set back to 5.0.9690.3233.
And in that case I've the same problem with Reports that are created with the reporting wizard.
Has anyone a idea to fix that issue? In the meanwhile I'll open a support ticket.
Thanks to all.

Are the server names actually blank in Deployment Manager, or have you blanked them out ? If they are blank in Deployment Manager, then I'd be concerned you may have a more fundamental problem.
I would have expected all servers should have the same version - what Update rollups have been installed on each server ?
The other thing to check is whether each organisation has been configured to use the current Reporting Server. Different Organisations can be configured for different Reporting Servers, which could cause issues

Hi all,
I had an nice support call with Microsoft. At first, Microsoft knows the problem and they plan to fix it with Rollup 13.
In the meanwhile, there is a solution from march 2012 what brings up the reporting functionality again but do not solve the problem completely.
Here is the URL
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2590774
After I’ve implemented the solution, I was able to run self-created reports by the wizard again.
But in the deployment manager you still have an version difference and the warning that I’ve already described.
Another side effect is, that the basic SharedReports what installed while the Organization creation, did not work properly (not the Default Reports in CRM).
The support has communicated that this will also fixed with the Rollup 13.
So I hope I could help you with that.
Best regards,
Chris

I guess he has blanked out the names ;-)
All Servers has the same version, it is the one from the rollup 12. But when you install the
reporting extension the version of the Server changes from X.X.XXXX.3236 to X.X.XXXX.3233

Hi,
as written earlier, we had the same issue after installing UR 11. We were able to create new wizard-reports, run custom- and system-reports, but could not run custom-wizard-reports. The Deployment manager said "Reporting is not enabled" and under servers he did not show the ssrs-connector-role
Today we did an repair-installation of the SSRS-Extensions via control panel -> software and than installed UR 11 for the extensions again. Now the deployment managers does not show the error-message anymore and the ssrs-connector-role is listed in the servers-list as expected.
So i would recommend reinstalling the connector before trying other steps, cause it is done in a few seconds and helped for us.
Kind Regards

Hi Thomas,
i've tryed that several times. Deleting the SSRS Extension, installing it again, repairing it but nothing solved our problem.
I'm happy that it was a solution for your case. Maybe my situation comes only from the steps rollup 6 and rollup 12 without installing the rollup 11.
Thanks for the Feedback.
Best Regards,
Chris

It started happening for us after we went from Rollup 7 to Rollup 12 v2. I have tried repairing and reinstalling SRS Rollup 12 v2 on the SQL server but that didn't help.
Just like HK and Chris mentioned, CRM Deployment Manager reports version 5.0.9690.3226 for CRM Full Server and version 5.0.9690.3233 for SRS Data connector and SQL Server.
Any other suggestions will be appreciated?
Thanks

Anyone with similar experience please reply. Because its the live server where I cant take chances.
