Unable to browse to Dynamics

Question
-
Hi there,
We have an installation of Dynamics 4.0 for development purposes (we are developing a 3rd party app to integrate with Dynamics). Up to 6 months ago, our installation ws fine.
Today I have tried to browse to it and I get the following error
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
•Internet connectivity has been lost.
•The website is temporarily unavailable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
•The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
•There might be a typing error in the address.
•If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. At first glance this obviously looks like a network issue, however I can still browse to our 3rd party App (which is a virtual directory created under the dynamics site), so I'm not so sure.
The problem is I cannot see anything in the event logs, so am a bit stumped as to where to start. Has anybody ever had any issues browsing to dynamics with this little to go on.
Apologies for the lack of detail.
Many thanks.

Can you access the web client from on the server? If so, you probably have a network problem. Otherwise it's a server issue.
If it's a server issue:
Go to services in adminstrative tools under control panel and see if the Microsoft Dynamics Asynchronous Processing service is running.
I would try to restart iis cmd.exe then iisreset, then maybe restart the server.
If it's a network issue you will need to contact your network administrator or if it's you then you need to troubleshoot all the usual suspects in the realm of network topology (Firewalls, DNS, subnetting if there is any, etc...)

Stop the email router, restart IIS
If that doesn't work my next guess is that you changed the authentication settings in IIS or the webconfig file when you added your 3rd party app.

Thanks for the reply.
I would guess in this case that it is a server issue then, as I cannot access it from on the server either, using both the machine name and the IP Address.
There are 2 versions of the Service you mention running, Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing service and Microsoft CRM Asynchronous Processing service (Client), and I have restared the server a few times now.
The only other things I can think of are an issue with windows authentication, or maybe an issue with a windows update, otherwise I am out of ideas - I am logging on with the same user that was working 6 months ago so I don't see why it would have changed.
Other than that, I am thinking along the lines of a re-install...
