Windows Vista Home Premium Error Code 0xC004F063 in Activation

Question
-
I had to recently re-install Windows Vista and when I go to activate it tells me I have an error in my activation key, but it is the key I got off the bottom of my laptop. I have had this laptop for almost four years and have never had this problem, even when I've reinstalled before.
I ran the diagnostics tool and this is what it said.

Okay, I see what the problem is there.
But the product key on the sticker on my laptop is all rubbed off, to the point I can't even use a magnifying glass or a bright light to get it read. I mean all the black ink is completely gone. I have had this computer for almost four years and it has decided to fail me now when I don't have the activation key.
How can I retrieve it without needing to buy a new one? I cannot afford that at all nor ever, and I need the one that came with the computer.
OK – this is always worth a try in such circumstances..... (Assuming that you used a proper set of recovery disks, or the computer’s recovery partition for the reinstall)try the below steps to recreate the Licensing Store with the correct data.
1) Open an Internet Browser window.
2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
3) Find the file CMD.exe
4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
9) Type: net start slsvc
10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
11) Restart your computer twice. If you’re lucky, this will correct the problem. If not then try using telephone activation, and sweet-talking the operator into giving you a new Key.telephone activation.
Click on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 4
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions - but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you.

The Key in use here is NOT the one from the COA sticker – it’s the one from a Recovery Disk set.You need to change the Key to the one from your COA sticker – you may then have to activate by phone.Change Product KeyClick on the Start button
in the Search box, type
SLUI 3
and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions -First attempt activation over the internet. If that fails, useTelephone activationClick on the Start button

When I used that last time it did not work, and I could not activate by phone. There was no opportunity for me to get actually get the telephone activation option. I only get the options to buy a new product key, to reenter my product key again, or to receive Microsoft Support Online.
I keep getting the runaround.
I just need my product key and don't want to have to sweet talk or buy a new one. Is there a way to recover it that is NOT my windows recovery key?
It did not come with my documentation from Toshiba and the sticker is all rubbed off.
The above option for recreating the files for the BIOS did not work no matter how many times I tried it as it says the files are duplicated or they don't exist.
It even said it the first time I did it.

In that case change Line 7 to readType: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar2
(..or ..bar3 or .bar4, until l you get one that works)It means that someone has already done this at least once, so the tokens.bar file already exists – you can check by typingDIR [Enter]at that point first, if you like – you’ll get a list of the files present.
