    can someone tell me how to overcome the virus which blocks orkut and youtube

    follow these steps

    (1) Press 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' to open the 'Task Manager'.Click on 'Process tab' and locate SVCHOST.EXE. which is being shown under your current user name.Now click on the 'End Process' button to kill that task.
    (2) Start the registry editor and browse to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\M... Version\policies\Explorer\' and delete any keys with the entry called 'heap41a'.
    (3) Go to 'My Computer' and double click on C: drive and delete the folder 'heap41a'.If you find a folder called 'test.exe', delete that too.

    thanks man, ill also try doing that in my college;s internet lab. I dont know whether itsa virus, or its blocked by the admin, but it will be good atleast to try it out  Smile cause orkut works on some computers Smile

    i dont think a virus will block orkut ????......and it is not dependant on your computer ..it is blocked in the network not on your  computer...so it wont help...

    Hello

     

    There is no such virus which blocks Orkut.....the fact is may be ur organistaion or University campus has a central database server and at this place the system administrator has updated some security policies according to which no one can access the Orkut.com. If the adminstrator has given some permisisons to teachers at university, they can access orkut... So in server enviroment you can set permissions for diffferent users.

    Acessing a server can be interrupted in 3 ways

    1> at the n/w side

    2> at the client side

    3>intermediate proxy server or intermediate router, etc.

     

    Orkut is blocked in serverside mean ,it cant acess to all because for a single person it cant be blocked as a public site

    for client side it can be blocked due to some progs which not allow the HTTP protocol to send request ,and they themself send unaccessed answer

    it may be happen to block in in the intermediate server throgh various techniqes.

     so first we have to find out which side it is blocked(as only i am unable to acess or other also of same n/w or other allover world).then the problem can be solved........
