  • Please open a command prompt and type: slui 4

then hit enter.  This will allow you to go through phone activation.  Once you've done that please try to revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine

Let us know if that works.

  • I'm a week into Windows Vista...How do you open a command prompt?
    Tuesday, February 6, 2007 3:21 AM
  • Click on the blue Vista start button and type: command prompt in the "start search" box, then the Command Prompt will appear at the top of the Programs list.

  • I did it but this came up...

    Error: 0xC004D401

Description: The security processor reported a system file mismatch error.

  • You receive one of these error codes because your antivirus software or Digital Rights Management (DRM) software is incompatible with Windows Vista. Contact the software manufacturer of the antivirus software or of the DRM software to obtain a version that is compatible with Window Vista, and then reactivate Windows Vista.

  • Yes thank you very much I had gameguard running with one of my games. I guess I'll have to wait till they make an update to allow it to run on vista...Till then I'll just settle for my other games. Thank you everyone who helped!
