CRM 2013 :failure recovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

I am bit confused about failure recovery at CRM IG Guide. & copied the content below.  Do I need to re-run server set up every time of Disaster Recovery as we are doing DB level storage level replication ?

Note: we are not doing any Database mirroring.

"If you restored the <notlocalizable xmlns="http://ddue.schemas.microsoft.com/authoring/2003/5">MSCRM_CONFIG</notlocalizable>
database, you must run Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server Setup and use the
Connect to existing databases option on the Specify Deployment
    Options
page. If you did not restore the <notlocalizable xmlns="http://ddue.schemas.microsoft.com/authoring/2003/5">MSCRM_CONFIG</notlocalizable>
database and the database is functioning correctly, you can reconnect the
organization database to the system. ".

  • Yes.  If you are only doing db-level DR, then you need to re-run the CRM install to set up CRM against your existing backups.
