Firewall update is blocking my comcast e-mails RRS feed

  • I have internet connection but I am unable to access my e-mail through my regular Comcast (through MS Outlook).  When I called Comcast, I was told probably there was an update and if I am lucky, in a few days the problem will be tweaked and solved, if not, I might have to adjust my settings.  I looked at my settings but I am reluctant to do anything because, frankly, I am afraid if I lower the bar too much, my computer might get viruses.   Please help me!

  • The One Care firewall should not be blocking Outlook. To check the firewall settings open One Care>Change Settings>Firewall>Advanced>Programs, scroll down to Microsoft Office Outlook and make sure "Allow" is checked. You can also try turning off the One Care firewall, then try to send and receive mail. If you can send and receive mail with the firewall turned off then there is a firewall problem.
