add device problem: empty drop-down menu

Question
-
When I click Add Device, I'm supposed to choose OS in a drop-down menu then click Select, but the drop-down menu is empty. If I click Select without selecting anything in the drop-down menu, Live Mesh doesn't install. What should I do?I'm using an Intel Mac and Safari 4.thanks.Monday, June 15, 2009 10:04 PM

Thank you for your post. We're unable to reproduce an empty dropdown list for the device ring at www.mesh.com. Can you take a screenshot, open a bug, and attach the screenshot so we can investigate further.
Thanks for your help!

What version of Mac OSX is installed? The drop down should detect that you are on a Mac running OSX. It is possible that your version of OSX is older and unsupported perhaps.
These are the requirements for the Mac.
Operating system Mac OS X version 10.5 (Leopard) or later Processor Intel Memory 512 MB or more of RAM Hard drive 25 MB of available hard disk space Browser Safari 3.0 or later or Firefox 2.0 or later Internet connection Broadband Internet connection Display 1024 x 768 minimum display size

I'm using the latest OS X (Leopard). Just bought the Mac last week. It's a Macbook Pro and it satisfies all the requirements.

Well, then we can rule out the OSX version.
I don't use a Mac these days or Safari, so I can't advise if there may be a settings issue that is preventing the code on the page from detecting that you are using a Mac. Try poking around the Safari settings to make sure that there's nothing jumping out about the security settings that might be preventing the display. Hopefully, since this remains unanswered, someone from the Live Mesh team will step in with advice.

Thanks for the follow-up. Have you tried installing using a different browser on the Mac? -steve

Yes, I did. I installed the latest Firefox but still doesn't work. This time the page gives me "The Live Mesh extender is not currently supported on this device" after clicking the Add Device icon.Tuesday, July 7, 2009 2:06 PM

Sorry that you have not yet been successful with this. Not having a Mac, I can't be of any help, unfortunately.
