BT Home Hub and RC1 RRS feed

  • Question

Has anyone got the auto upnp configuration working with a BT Home Hub?

I'm running RC1 and didn't work for me with the Beta version either.

  • I've seen a few posts about home hubs not working correctly. The best thing to do is manually forward the ports (80, 443, 4125 (all TCP)).  See http://portforward.com   for details on how to forward ports for your router if your unsure how.

yes that's what I've been doing for the last couple of beta's, only now that we are in the RC stage it would be better if it worked. But I would not be surprised to find that the issue is with the home hub and not WHS!

  • I use manual configuration because although my router is configured by WHS, i find after a remote connection the router will reboot and WHS won't remap the ports without manually forcing it to.  Easier just to manually forward them once and forget about it.  UPNP is good for temporary forwardings for MSN transfer etc but not really required for more permanent installtions.
