Disappearing emails without my knowledge


  • Close to 100 emails that I sent with attachments to my address have disappeared within one month without my deleting any.

     What causes that?

  • It may be that you inadvertently changed views.

    If you look at "Quick Views" do you see "All Inbox" or "All Emails" selected.  You can change this by going to Menu bar and click on View.  Here you can make changes in the Views section and Layout sections.

    Usually when my clients complain of missing emails, it is because of this or they had created a rule and forgot that email gets forwarded to a folder that they created in the folder list.

    Do you see read and unread emails?

    How are the emails sorted?

    Are you checking email using multiple email programs?  One program on another device could have downloaded and deleted the messages.  It could be you may not have email configured correctly on a new device.  This may make it appear that the emails have been completely deleted but it may be in another email client on another computer/device using programs like Outlook, Thunderbird, cell phones or tablets which may be deleting email from the server.

    Check on them and if there forward the emails to your address again.

    Just a thought.
