WICD packaging RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been trying to use the WICD tool to package a UWP app. The package installs with no issue. However, when the app is uninstalled it cannot be reinstalled. Simply installing, uninstalling and reinstalling results in an error dialog with error code 0x800700b7. Looking at the activity in procmon, the issue seems to be associated with an orphaned .ppkg file in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Provisioning. When I remove that file, the installation appears to start OK but it does not succeed and does not display an error. I have been able to delete various materials in the location above, the temp folder and the registry and cause installation to work but have been unable to reduce it to a repeatable practice. Any tips on how to correctly handle install/uninstall/reinstall of a UWP app packaged using WICD?

I have a simple Hello World style app and packaging project available if that is of assistance.

  • Nevermind, uninstalling the app is only part of the equation. The provisioning package needs to be uninstalled via Settings->Accounts->Access work or school->Add or remove a provisioning package.
