P2P sync a larger folder - and then mesh a subfolder to my Live Desktop? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can I do this? ...

Since I only have 5 GB on the Live Desktop, I want to P2P sync a large folder. Then, I'd like to add a subfolder (of this P2P folder) to my mesh/Live Desktop, so it's available there too.

Is this possible? It looks like the answer is no.  When I right-click a folder (that already has a subfolder or higher level folder meshed) I do not get any available "mesh options".

    Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, this scenario is not available in the current version of Live Mesh because we do not allow nested Live Mesh folders (i.e., one Live Mesh folder inside another Live Mesh folder).  What you would need to do instead is create a separate Live Mesh folder for the contents that you want synchronized with your Live Desktop, and copy the data from the P2P subfolder into that new, separate Live Mesh folder.

The ability to nest Live Mesh folders inside one another is a fairly popular request, however.  Please feel free to add your vote for this feature to our Suggestions sticky.

    Thanks,

    Ben.
