Windows Home Server 2003 - Windows Home Server 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Acer EasyStore H340 which ran Windows Home Server 2003 died and I replaced the O/S drive and downloaded Windows Home Server 2011.

It installed no problem and is now doing all of its updates.

Does ANYONE know if I can stick my old two DATA drives from WHS 2003 into the box and they'll be recognized by the WHS2011 version?  Or is it not compatible and all my data is now lost from the 2003 instance?

  • hi,

If there is no similar storage pool created on whs2003 ,I think you add old two DATA drives from WHS 2003 into the box and they'll be recognized by the WHS2011.
You can add the disk one by one after the computer is shut down.
After you boot your system ,if you not find your disk ,you need to go to " device manager " and find "disk drivers " in the right panel. then right click "disk dirvers" select "scan for hardware changes"
